PICPA Student Writing Competition

Deadline: April 13, 2007

The Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs announces its annual Student Writing Competition, sponsored by the Pennsylvania CPA Journal Editorial Board.  The topic of this year’s competition is “Assessing the Impact of Frequent Financial Information Restatements.”  Have accounting misstatements and subsequent corrections become so frequent that they are now considered an accepted part of today’s business world?  Are they as common as we think, or have these events merely become “news” because of the increased number of financial media outlets?

The competition is open to accounting and business majors attending Pennsylvania colleges and universities.  The top three papers win $2,000, $1,200 and $800, respectively.

See www.CPAzone.org for information on topic and entry guidelines in the Events and Programs section.
